Are the events in your book realistic or unrealistic? Could they really happen, are they fantasy, or a mix of both? Explain using specific examples from the book.
Start out: My book is realistic/unrealistic because…
I read the book Dork diaries Tails from a Not so Popular Party girl. I think my book is realistic because it's about a girl who writes in a diary. Bad things always happen to her that could very well happen to all of us. For example Nikki always has to babysit her bratty little sister. This doesn't seem so bad but it always ends in disaster.
I read the book The Secret Language of Girls. This book is realistic because it is about two girls who were best friends and are having a huge conflict. This can happen in real life to. That is why this book is realistic.
I read a book called Star Girl. It was really good! Its kind of a not real but it could happen book. Star girl changes her name all the time and moves a lot. She is okward and sometimes very open and embarrassing towards other people. She meets this boy and they become friends. He feels they should be more than friends but Star Girl doesn't really understand his feelings. I really liked this book but, it can be kind of hard to understand in less you pay attention to detail.
I read a book called Above World it was a really good book. This book is both realistic and unrealistic because the book take place many hundreds of years in the future of the present day. This book suggests what might happen in the future. So it begins as: the world population is getting bigger and bigger so the world is running out of space. So humans must change with the world. They change themselves so they can live in the mountains, deserts, and the oceans. There are many more places where they live like the tops or the canopy of the forests. It also talks about survival too.
I read the book Baileys Story. I am not sure if this book is a true story, but it could happen. This story starts off with a little puppy and his little...adventure. then Bailey (Baileys the dog by the way) goes and lives with it's family. I would go on, but the book is way to good to spoil. That's all about Baileys story and if its true or not.
This book diary of a wimpy kid the ugly truth can be real in a middle school kids get in to boy girl parties and awkward changes that come to getting older.
My book is really realistic! Ada could be in the situation she was back then, except since it was during WW II, it could totally happen that she had a crippled foot and was sent to the country side during a war with bombs in her area.
My book is realistic because it could happen to anyone. It is called Katie's New Recipe and is part of the Cupcake Diaries series (the thirteenth book). It is about a girl named Katie who lives with just her mom since her parents got divorced when she was very little. Now all of a sudden, her mom gets a new boyfriend. Then, to make things even worse, she gets an email from her dad, asking to meet her. Another reason why I think this book is realistic is because it doesn't exactly end with a happy ending, which is the same in real life.
My book is called Stella by Starlight. It is an amazing story that takes time during the Klu Klux Clan raids and attacks. Stella is and African American Girl who lives in a quiet and joyful town. One day she goes outside during the night with her brother to go to the outhouse and sees a flare of light in the distance. They went in for a closer look, and saw a cross burning in the night and men with bright jewled saddled horses, with pointy white hats and white clothes covering everything but their faces. At that moment, Stella knows that this is the Klu Klux Clan. The rest of the book is about the little town fighting back and Stella learning to write stories of her own. I would reccomend this to anyone!
My book was a real setting because, the events that happened could happen in real life. For example the beloved dog died, and the characters sister goes to college. These are both real events that could happen. It is also realistic because not all the problems are solved. This book was the Penderwicks In Spring. I would highly recommend it. - Jane
My book is unrealistic because there is imaginary creatures such as dragons in it. Also, it has to do with magic, and real life does not have magic.
